Pump Wear Plate
The wear plate shows considerable damage.
The wear and heat seemed to have caused sloughing of material. The orange spot appears to be an oxidation which occurred after part removal.
The rear side of the wear plate shows clear heat signatures from the corresponding sloughed off areas on the opposite side.
This is a close up of the heat discoloration. We assume the center shinny areas are from past testing or shipping. They were not there on earlier photos.
How could this have gotten so hot if fluid were circulating in this pump?
